Had the great pleasure of meeting a fellow CA Aquapon, Andy from Santa Barbara. Got me to thinking we shouldn't be left out. There is a Florida and Colorado group so there has to be one from CA. Besides we can share links, ideas and suppliers

Comment by Randy Lau on April 5, 2012 at 10:04pm Hello all,
Randy from San Francisco here. Finding a lot of useful info from the site. I'm patiently waiting on my order of bluegills, and bullhead cats to arrive. So far I only have mosquito fish swimming in the 275g IBC and the beets, onions, celery, mints are loving it!
Shout out to Chi Ma for letting me pick his brain.

Comment by Chi Ma on April 5, 2012 at 2:59pm @ Curtis. You could start with channel cats. Good feed to weight conversion. Cold and heat tolerant.

Comment by Curtis Clark on April 5, 2012 at 1:44pm Hello all
I recently moved back to California, i'm living in lucerne valley which is just north of big bear. I have been working on my system it has a fish tank size of 2200 to 2500 gallons and i'm nearly ready to get some fish. I was wondering what type of fish do you all recommend and where can i get them? It can get cold here in the winter being this close to big bear. my system is in a greenhouse but it not heated. My tank is in the ground and covered so i'm not worried about it getting to hot in the summer. i have had koi and gold fish in my last system, but this time I want some fish i can eat.
thank you

Comment by Bob Campbell on March 25, 2012 at 9:38am I'm wondering if anyone here would be willing to share a Spirulina blue-green algae start with me.
I'd be willing to send a bottle and a self addressed box.

Comment by Flaco on March 10, 2012 at 11:44am Is there anyone around the Fresno area? I would really like to collaborate with someone here in the San Joaquin valley.
Comment by Sanda Everette on March 2, 2012 at 6:18pm I just wanted to share an update on our system. I am finding it very beautiful....and it doesn't even have plants yet. Eric Maundu is not quite finished with the electronics for our system, but we do have goldfish in one tank and ready for something to eat in the other. I have seeded one of the three beds. We decided to build a greenhouse around the whole system, and it is looking great. The greenhouse plastic will go on this weekend Many updated photos posted of the whole building process .San Mateo Ecovillage Aquaponics
