Good Day!!

Hello to the community of fellow eco-doers! I have recently found this wonderful art of Aquaponics. I have always raised a garden of my own, and had a small hydroponics operation as well, however in Montana it is quite hard to continue an operation without a proper greenhouse, so as I have come to the conclusion to go larger scale and accompany the plants with an organic nutrient base, fish!

However to get to this level I feel the need to learn more about the industry, where you come in. I am searching for employment to begin my learning, from there or while there I will find a school with related studies within the Aquaculture Industry in hopes to become a certified or better yet a degree holder with relevant qualifications.

If you have an interest in hiring a very motivated learner as well as a happy gardener I would be more than willing to relocate for the opportunity to assist in the growing demand for local, fresh, organic foods. If you would like to learn more about me please do ask, I would forward any information requests or resume to you immediately.

Also, if any of you have an idea of where a real school would be where as I can work to reach my goal it would be much appreciated. I thank you all for the time you have spent to help educate the rest of the world.

Hi Jerry, I am interested in hearing more about your work. I live in southern Oregon and would like to get a commercial system going here. I agree that this is a powerful way to address hunger. Are you currently building systems? How are  you choosing where to build a system; ie. market research? How are you funding this? I look forward to hearing more. Cheers, John

hello I am searching for some serious people who want to turn the world around. when I think about all the advancements in our lifetimes we have not implemented a working solution to world starvation... Seriously the more I think about it the more disgusted I become with humanity So here is my attempt to get it done I am trying to set up aquaponic farms in many areas to start with in the United states and hopefully around the world. If we pool resources I believe we can get it done. I have 4 areas I am currently developing 1: Northern WI 2. Southern IL 3. central TN. 4. North Eastern OK. if you have any interest in being a part of or have other locations that you may want to tackle this global problem together feel free to contact me directly by email : holy_lovin1@yahoo.com. Thanks my friends and I wish you all joy and success.

Mike from Boston, MA.  About 15 miles West to be exact.  Currently laid off from my electrical construction job.  Just finished up my permaculture design course, applied for the master gardeners program and waiting for a reply.  I'm looking to donate my time, and possibly intern/work in this field.  Really quick learner, and have a serious passion for this type of work.  Hope to move away from the construction business and do this full time one day.  If anyone in the area is looking for help or knows anyone looking for help any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Internship Opportunity:

We're accepting applications for one internship beginning this spring at our current commercial/research aquaponic greenhouse.  We're in the process of building another greenhouse that we will be moving our operation to in April and May.  We will work with the accepted intern to teach aquaponic system design, management and commercial models.  The position is unpaid for greenhouse work as it is considered part of the educational aspects of the internship.  However, we typically pay interns minimum wage for help with manufacturing and other aspects of the business.  You would work alongside several academic interns/apprentices as well as other non-academic interns.  You are responsible for your room and board- most interns choose to get a part-time job in addition to the internship.  Interns that do very well and show promise may be offered paid positions at the company after the end of their internship.  Please email me at nate@brightagrotech.com if you are interested.  Tell my why you would like to intern with us, what your goals are, and attach your resume.

Damon Polta Comment by Damon Polta on November 13, 2011 at 9:11pm

hello everyone!

I'm Damon Polta and i spent 9 months on the friendly aquaponics farm and 7 months managing the friendly aquaponics farm (when it was producing 400lb of sellable mixed lettuce per week).

I've got an MBA in life skills and survival and i've got a PHD in fast talking and spinning a topic, what can i say? talking is a talent that i've turned professional.

i specialized in harvesting logistics and facility management while i was on the FAP farm. although there are ways to up the production of a set space to far beyond the yield that we were hitting, they preferred to keep it old school.

when it come to aquaponics i'm looking for something to fill up the next few months. i've got something big planed for the spring, but i'm feeling the itch to get my hands on some fish and lettuce.

if you feel that you might be in need of my services please feel free to contact me at nomadatlop@msn.com. thats my personal email and all of my email is directed to my phone which is connected to my hip.

wishing you all the best from the American midwest,

Damon
