How do you figure bed size if you are using 6 inch 10 ft pc of pvc with 10 holes for net pots? Is it the size of the amt of medium or the are of the bed or what?

- Small kidney shaped backyard pond. I have no idea how many gallons it is. -45 dead fish so far after pvc pipe fell and pumped the water out of the tank.
- Please tell us something else about yourself.
- I live in Broomfield with a little backyard and pond. I just set up a flood table next to the fishpond. It is only 2 x 3 ft approx. and I also have 10 ft 6 inch pvc flood and drain(2 5 ft sections) with net pots over the fish tank.

45 fish seems like lot of fish for the size of grow bed you have without any supplemental filtration.

You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful. And please join the Colorado Aquapons group (see the Groups tab above) so we can all stay in touch (I'm in Boulder).
