Aquaponics best in what kind of classroom

I may have an opportunity to set up an aquaponics system in a classroom. I was just wondering if people thought it would be best to set one up for an average class or a smaller group of students that are considered standouts. Our local district has a program called TAG (talented and gifted) where students particularly interested and gifted in science, math, etc. get to do projects like this or just advance at a faster pace. Which one do you think would benefit more? Advantages, disadvantages to…See More

"If you install a 2" Flout in a tank up high, you could probably operate a 1 1/4" gravity modified indexing valve if you make sure the FLOUT tank is at least 28 inches above the valve, and the valve is at the height of the top of the grow…"

Welcome April,

Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions.  Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.

A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Home page.  You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.  And consider joining the Colorado Aquapons group (see Groups tab above) so we can all stay in touch (I'm in Boulder too!).

Please participate and check in with us every day!  We are constantly posting news about aquaponics and the good food movement.

Thanks again for joining us, and I look forward to getting to know you.

Sylvia
