ok i have seen allmost every youtube vid there is that has the word aqua, tilapia, phonics and hydro. ( and the combinations of those words) just seems the majority start with "i just got started and dont know what im doing" or "i put a lot of $$$$ in this and i dont know why nothing is going the way i hoped" this site seems to have the correct mix of new ideas and expierienced people, the big for profit guys and the hobby types. i hope to both contribute and to learn as much as posible. Hi Clay,

I have not visited the site for quite some time. I noticed you live here in Hollywood as I do. I studied the different options for creating a system but other factors in my life took priority. So I see by your photos that you have been through many permutations of aquaponic systems. Is it possible to meet and see what you are doing with this project. I have a good size back yard. I live in Oakridge off of griffin and 35th ave.

Regards,

Hi Clay!  Thanks for the friend request!  Glad to hear you want to attend one of our upcoming courses.  I am sure we will post an event listing here soon and that would be a great place to list that others can catch a ride up with you.  Thanks for the offer!

Thanks. My brother lives in Brooksville too.  I checked @ walmart and they were sold out of the metal framed pools. Found a 12'x30" on ebay for $126. including shipping.  What size is the one in your system?  Do you have any pics of your growbeds?  Thanks for all the info.

Good information, thanks.  Do you have any idea how long would a swimming pool liner last if it's shaded from the sun?  That was my concern about them.  Thanks for the idea of searching for "totes"  I had been searching for troughs, tanks, etc.

Welcome Clay :-)

I am sure that you agree that Aquaponics is a fantastic way to grow both fish and vegetables naturally. Love to see some pictures of your system.

God bless :-)

Welcome Clay,

Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions.  Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.

A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Home page.  You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.

Please add a profile image, participate and check in with us every day!  We are constantly posting news about aquaponics and the good food movement.

Thanks again for joining us, and I look forward to getting to know you.

Sylvia
